Whenever you're experiencing low energy or any health problems - make yourself a healthy fresh juice. Juicing has become more popular in recent years because of the many health benefits it provides. Juicing has more nutrients and fiber than a smoothie because it's prepared with fresh greens, fruits, nuts and seeds. But remember even if you are juicing, be sure to incorporate a well-balanced whole food diet.
I make up my own healthy juices for breakfast each morning as they are simple to make and I will share with you how to prepare a juice for yourself and my recipe for a healthy juice.
The ingredients for a healthy juice always begins with fresh greens - Spinach, Kale, Swiss Chard, Spring Greens, Collard Greens or Romaine. Add your favorite combination of fresh fruits - bananas, strawberries, blueberries, melons. Then add nuts - walnuts, almonds, or cashews. Add seeds - Chia Seeds, Flax Seeds, Hemp Seeds, Pumpkin Seeds, Sesame Seeds or Sunflower Seeds. Add an extra super boost to your juice by adding Goji or Acai Berries to the mixture. Just add some spring water and blend to desired consistency.
Super Fruit Berry Blast Juice
1-2 handfuls of rinsed spinach
1/2 cup blueberries
1/2 cup strawberries
1/4 red grapes
1/4 cup walnuts
1 tsp flax seeds
1/8 cup goji berries
Add the spinach to your blender or processor, then add all the fruit on top of the spinach, then add the fruits. Add the walnuts, flax seeds and goji berries. Add spring water to cover the mixture and blend - add more water if your juice is too thick.
Pour into a large glass and enjoy!
