Fibromyalgia - Natural Solutions

Fibromyalgia affects approximately 10 million people in the United States. Fibromyalgia is characterized by chronic pain, which includes muscle pain, fatigue, sleep, memory or cognitive impairment, depression and painful tender points throughout the body.

Conventional medicine has yet to find the cause of fibromyalgia and doctors only treat the symptoms through pain medications and antidepressants.

I have been suffering from Fibromyalgia since 1996, which has left me searching for answers to help alleviate the chronic pain I have endured daily. I also suffer from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome which often accompanies Fibromyalgia.  Back in 1996, the medical profession had no idea what Fibromyalgia & CFS was so I was given every test available.  The conclusion of some of my doctors was that "it's all in your head".  I knew that it was very real and not just in my head and continued seeking help. For 18 years I was prescribed a myriad of pain meds, antidepressants, anti-inflammatory meds, physical therapy and painful steroid injections which only exacerbated my illness.

Not until recently, thanks to nutritionists and holistic medicine, they have uncovered some of the causes that may be responsible for this debilitating autoimmune disorder. Since fibromyalgia didn't appear until the mid 80's, my opinion is that it emerged from the introduction of GMO foods at this exact same time, as it never existed previously.  For all of us who have suffered relentlessly from this illness I'm hoping that we will now have some answers.  I know I am sick and tired of doctors that only treat the symptoms without getting to the root cause of Fibromyalgia. I'm sure you are too!

Possible Causes of Fibromyalgia:

Gluten intolerance
Gluten has been liked to a multitude of diseases. The reason for this is that the majority of gluten intolerance symptoms are not entirely digestive by nature, but are instead neurological producing chronic pain, cognitive impairment, sleep disturbances, behavioral issues, fatigue and depression.

Candida

Candida is a fungus, or yeast, and a very small amount of it lives in your intestines. When overproduced, Candida breaks down the wall of the intestines and penetrates the bloodstream, releasing toxins into your body and causing a host of unpleasant symptoms such as brain fog, fatigue, digestive issues and pain.

Thyroid
Request a blood test from your doctor to check not only THS levels but also Free Cell T3 and T4 to accurately measure your thyroid gland’s function. Getting thyroid levels in check can typically alleviate fatigue, brain fog, sleep disturbances and depression.

Vitamin deficiencies
Magnesium, vitamin D and B12 deficiency are the most common vitamin deficiencies that have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Some people can completely reverse their fibromyalgia symptoms with magnesium alone.

Leaky gut
There are more bacteria in us and on us then there are of our own cells. When these bacteria get out of balance through use of antibiotics or a sugar-rich diet, we can lose our ability to digest and absorb nutrients, particularly B12. Gluten can cause leaky gut syndrome which can lead to gluten and other food intolerances.

Mycotoxins
Mycotoxins are very toxic substances produced by molds. All conventional mold testing only tests for levels of mold spores and does not test for mycotoxins. A urine test is available to test for mycotoxins.

Mercury toxicity
Everyone should have their mercury amalgam fillings removed. Mercury is toxic to our bodies and may be the cause of several illnesses.

Adrenal Fatigue
Adrenal fatigue is a result of chronic stress. Chronic pain is a stress to the adrenal glands, though it's not often the initial adrenal stressor. The initial stressor is usually due to food allergies, Candida, mercury toxicity, vitamin deficiencies or mycotoxins.

Glutathione deficiency
Glutathione is the most crucial part of our body’s detoxification system. Taking glutathione supplement, turmeric, and selenium often help dramatically with fatigue. Pineapples are a rich source of glutathione!

There's no single root cause of fibromyalgia, which makes it difficult to assess the causes for the illness. I recommend that you find a Holistic physician in your area to help you find natural solutions for fibromyalgia. You don't need to suffer needlessly or mask your symptoms with pain medications and antidepressants.

I wish all my fellow sufferers of Fibromyalgia a future without pain and suffering!

Intuitively Yours,
Laurel  xoxo
